32. Cleveland Browns (0-8)- Last Week- 32
There are only so many ways to say the Browns are bad. I guess the only update to their awfulness is they missed on getting another QB, this time Jimmy Garoppolo who was traded to the 49ers.
31. San Francisco 49ers (0-8)- Last Week- 31
Well, they got Jimmy Garoppolo, a move I really like. It has a chance to completely turn this team around. The move comes too late to save their season, but it can save their future.
30. Indianapolis Colts (2-6)- Last Week- 30
Both the GM and the head coach should be fired before the season is over. A good coach could turn this team around.
29. New York Giants (1-6)- Last Week- 29
Well, they were on a bye, so they didn’t lose. Like the Colts, this is a team that needs a new coach, a new GM, and also a new QB.
28. Arizona Cardinals (2-5)- Last Week- 28
No Carson Palmer means this team is finished. Even with Palmer, they would be finished at 2-5.
27. Miami Dolphins (4-3)- Last Week- 17(-10)
This offense is inept. QB play is horrid, whether it is Matt Moore or Jay Cutler. The offensive line is awful, and poor Jay Ajayi is getting hit behind the line every time he gets the ball. The 4-3 record is a farce.
26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- (2-5)- Last Week- 25(-1)
Jameis Winston is playing hurt, that is clear. This offense needs a ton of work, and the defense even more so. They are young and have talent, but that talent is not being properly utilized.
25. Cincinnati Bengals- (4-4)- Last Week- 27(+2)
They struggled against the Colts. Yet another team who should be looking for a new head coach come the offseason. Though Marvin Lewis seems to have infinite lives. When do consistently subpar performances, and no playoff wins, cost you a job?
24. Baltimore Ravens- (4-4)- Last Week- 26(+2)
They beat up on the Dolphins, but they are still bad. Ravens may also have to move on from their head coach. Only in this case, if they do fire Harbaugh, he is someone who will immediately find another job.
23. Chicago Bears- (3-5)- Last Week- 23
Mitch Trubisky doesn’t seem to have a great arm. It is early, and I do not think you can fairly evaluate him until you get him better weapons, but still, the early returns are underwhelming.
22. Oakland Raiders- (3-5)- Last Week- 20(-2)
Well, so much for turning it around. After a bad loss to the Bills, I think you can officially write them off this season. There is just something wrong with them.
21. Green Bay Packers- (4-3)- Last Week- 21
No Aaron Rodgers, no playoffs. Simple as that. I have seen enough from Brett Hundley to see he is not going to carry them anywhere.
20. New York Jets- (3-5)- Last Week- 24(+4)
They lost, but other teams played worse than them, so they still move up. With this loss, any hopes of being a sneaky wildcard team are severely damaged, but still, they are way better than we thought they would be.
19. Tennesee Titans- (4-3)- Last Week- 22(+3)
They didn’t play, but several other teams were bad enough to fall below them. Don’t mistake that for the Titans being good though. This team has many problems, and hopefully they figured some of them out of the bye. Because right now, they are only the third-best team in what looked like should have been their division to win.
18. San Diego Chargers- (3-5)- Last Week- 19(+1)
The Chargers are slightly better than their record shows. Three of their five losses were very close. They are not good, but they are not awful. They are just mediocre. If they had better luck, mediocre could have been good enough to win a wildcard this season.
17. Detroit Lions (3-4)- Last Week- 15(-2)
The Lions continue to waste potential. Three straight losses and the Lions are now in desperation mode. The only thing keeping them afloat is their win over the Vikings earlier.
16. Denver Broncos (3-4)- Last Week- 13(-3)
The Broncos need a QB. Trevor Siemian is not good enough. They very well may lose their next two games against the Eagles and Patriots, and that would be the end of their season.
15. Washington Football Team(3-4)- Last Week- 11(-4)
With two losses against the Eagles and one loss to the Cowboys, Washington is officially on red alert. Their O-line is decimated, and one more loss will be the killing blow at this point. One thing in their favor, a win over the Rams who they may have to compete with for a wildcard.
14. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-3)- Last Week- 16(+2)
Another team who did not play, but still rose because of other teams playing poorly. Now the question is, can they string two wins together for once? They are neck and neck with the Texans and have a win over them, but that win came before the emergence of DeShawn Watson.
13. Carolina Panthers (5-3)- Last Week- 18(+5)
A bounce-back win after two straight losses keeps them at the top of the wildcard contention. Still, their inconsistent play is a concern.
12. Atlanta Falcons (4-3)- Last Week- 12
They managed to pull out a win, but they are still in danger here. They are third in their division and have struggled in all except one game.
11. Houston Texans (3-4)- Last Week- 14(+3)
The Texans may have lost, but they played well. DeShawn Watson convinced me he is here to stay with a fantastic game against one of the NFL’s best defenses. They couldnt pull out the win, but they should remain favorites to win their division.
10. Dallas Cowboys (5-2)- Last Week- 10
Well, they won, but they also received bad news about Ezekial Elliot whose request for a preliminary injunction was denied. This does not yet mean he will have to serve the suspension, we will have to see how the NFLPA responds. But it brings Zeke closer to having to serve his suspension this year.
9. Buffalo Bills (5-2)- Last Week- 9
The Bills are legit, and at this point, they are the only clear choice to win one of the wildcard spots. I do not think they are good enough to make a deep run in the playoffs, but after being written off in the preseason, this is impressive.
7. Minnesota Vikings (6-2)- Last Week- 7(-1)
With a good QB, they could be elite. They have everything except for a franchise signal-caller. They have the head coach, the weapons, the RB, although he is out for the season, and the great defense.
7. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2)- Last Week- 8(+1)
The defense is great, and the offense is starting to work. This team could be reminiscent of the Broncos team that won with an aged Peyton Manning.
6. New Orleans Saints (5-2)- Last Week- 6
This Saints team reminds me of the Saints team that won the Superbowl. Great passing game, and a playmaking defense. A recipe for success in the modern NFL.
5. Seattle Seahawks (5-2) – Last Week- 5
The defense struggled in week 8, but that can be forgiven. Russell Wilson is overcoming the bad O-line play. With Wilson playing like this, they can go all the way.
4. Kansas City Chiefs (6-2)- Last Week- 4
They won, and the defense looked great, as did Travis Kelce. One concern, Kareem Hunt is slowing down. Not as in he isn’t running fast anymore, but as in his production has fallen off. Bad for the Chiefs, and bad for my fantasy team.
3. St Louis Rams (5-2)- Last Week- 3
The Rams did not play. I do not know if they will hold up as well down the stretch with their inexperience, but Rams fans have to be excited about the future. The offense is very good, and the defense shows potential.
2. New England Patriots (6-2)- Last Week- 2
Patriots defense looked good again, and those early concerns now seem a distant memory. Still, this Patriots team is not as flawless as many thought they would be. There is no doubt they are favorites in the AFC right now, but they are not untouchable.
1. Philadelphia Eagles (7-1)- Last Week- 1
The defense gets better every week, and Wentz continues to improve. Even in an overall down game for Wentz, he still was impressive, making key throws to help the team when needed.
